It's Gonna be a BOY!

First of all, congratulations on your coming miracle! You will have to make several crucial decisions that will directly affect your baby boy. One of the most important decisions you will make regards your child's genital. Sounds absurd doesn't it? That fact alone should be enough of an argument to just leave it alone. The foreskin is there for a reason. Speaking of reasons, here are several arguing to keep your baby whole.

1. Most boys in the world are not even cut. America is the country in the world with the highest circumcision rate. Roughly 3/4 (75%) of the men in the world are not cut. America has roughly 314 million people. The world has 7 billion people roaming around on it. That makes America's population roughly 4.5% of the world. What a small number in comparison to the whole globe...

2. The foreskin is a healthy, fully-functional organ. The foreskin plays a crucial role in intercourse for intact men. Its erogenous nerves, lubricating abilities, and gliding motion all assist in pain free and pleasurable sex for both partners.

3. Foreskin is not a birth defect. It was meant to be there, so why take the risk and remove a fully-functional body part? If the baby is healthy, why take an unnecessary risk. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

4. It's not recommended by any medical association in the United States. Just because your doctor says to cut off a healthy body part, doesn't mean you have to listen. Go out and seek multiple opinions before altering your son's genitals permanently.

5. It's not medically proven that circumcision prevents any STIs, STDs, or HIV. This is usually cited as the number one reason to circumcise, but it's FALSE. To prevent such life threatening diseases and viruses, your son will have to be educated on safe-sex and abstinence until he finds someone he loves.

6. It's easy to take care of. During the duration while your boy is in diapers, you will not have to clean under the foreskin. This is a HUGE NO-NO. The foreskin is to retract on its own over time. Just change a diaper as you would with a circumcised baby. During a bath, only the external part of the penis should be washed with mild soap. Cutting your child exposes the glans to feces and urine. The foreskin helps protect against the "elements of life" (clothing abrasion, bacteria, and more).  When your child is old enough he will have to be taught to gradually retract his foreskin.

7. Times are a changing! During the 1980's, the circumcision rate in the US was around 80%. These days in the US, the rate has been slashed in half to around 40%. That means that 60% of new-born boys are left intact (and rightfully so).

8. Face it, it's not just a "little cut". Circumcision is a full blown surgery that bears all the risk of any surgery. Anesthesia, bleeding, infections, and pain afterwards is all a part of it. Why subject your baby, who was just born, to all of this nastiness that ideally should never have to be worried about in life.

I hope that the 8 reasons above have convinced you NOT to cut your boy or future boy.
